Cowichan Valley Basket Society Fundraiser
First annual Gala – March 16th, 2024 6:30pm

Cowichan Valley Basket Society (CVBS) would like to invite you to our first annual fund-raising gala and be part of the solution to alleviate food insecurity in the Cowichan Valley.
Deciding between rent/mortgage/heat or food is an impossible choice.
Recent reports say 1 in 7 people experience food insecurity and are facing this challenge daily. At the CVBS, an average of 220 lunches have been served each day to a range of guests of all ages and backgrounds. Many are seniors on fixed income having to make a choice between eating and paying their rent. Each month over 500 hampers are given away, providing food for over 1,100 people. This is an 80% increase in demand in the last year. The demand continues to grow, and our budget and center are being stretched to meet these increased needs.
You can help by becoming a Friend of the Food Bank:
Join us on March 16th for our first annual Friends of the Food Bank Gala.
- The event will take place at the Cowichan Curling Club 3191 Sherman Rd.
- Tickets are $125.00 each and you will be issued a charity receipt for $80
- While enjoying a meal provided by Gibby’s Catering we will have some wonderful entertainment along with the silent and live auctions.
- Doors open at 6pm and program starts at 6:30, dinner is served at 7pm
Donate quality items for the live or silent auctions.
Set up an automatic monthly donation to support the efforts of the CVBS.
Proceeds from our gala will be equally distributed to fulfill our mission and pay down the mortgage.
